A musical inspired by the music of Deadmau5, and the Toronto house scene, is coming to this year's Toronto Fringe Festival.
Described as "Book of Mormon meets Ratatouille," Deadmouse: The Musical is a comedy about a mouse who aspires to be a famous DJ, but faces discrimination because he's a mouse.
"Joel Zimmermouse must team up with his best friend David Goudda and his flame, Cat, to overcome speciest discrimination and the mouse hating House DJ Avicheese," reads the description. (Deadmau5's really name is Joel Zimmerman, and David Guetta is a world-famous French DJ and producer.)
The creators also make clear that the show will not feature the music of Deadmau5 himself. "Just so there’s no confusion Deadmouse: The Musical is not written by Deadmau5 or endorsed by Deadmau5. It is a parody," reads the website. "It was written out of love of house music culture."
The show runs July 3-11, and the warning pretty much says it all: Sexual Content, Mature Language, Strobe Light.
