Veteran producers Jan St. Werner and Andi Toma, the two German artists who have made music as Mouse on Mars since 1993 (resulting in an astounding discography which we interviewed the two innovators about a couple years back), celebrate over two decades of their shapeshifting electronic music project this year. Following its most recent release in January, the Spezmodia mini-album for Modeselektor's Monkeytown label, the duo now has plans to ring in its 21st year with a documentary film called 21 Again, and they need your help to finishing making it.

Since debuting early last year, New York's Fifth Wall label has rapidly made a name for itself with strong-armed releases from label heads Hound Scales and Divvorce, Scottish duo Clouds, Physical Therapy, and others. Now, it's using the community of producers it has built for a greater good, releasing a 13-track compilation the proceeds from which will go to help fund two organizations working to prevent malaria deaths around the world.

Nascent London label Cohort is kicking off its discography with the dark-palleted Grey Veils EP, the imprint's inaugural release by Libson-based producer Chainless. According to a press release, the aptly named producer aims to not be "bonded up to anything, not being bonded to a face or to a music genre." And he succeeds with mysterious EP cut "Ancient Ruins"; the shadowy piece features an arrangement of percussion and choppy, ritualistic vocal bits which are held together with intense synth tones. The rest of Chainless' disquieting Grey Veils EP will appear on March 31, and can be previewed ahead of its arrival, after the jump.

It seems that LA-based producer and former XLR8R podcast contributor Delroy Edwards is a fan of surprise releases. A few weeks ago, he suddenly issued an eight-track 12" of "no wave" productions, and today, he's followed it up with a new record—and a new alias—for his own L.A. Club Resource label.

After revealing its initial line-up—which included Nicolass Jaar, Audion, Shackleton, Voices from the Lake, and more—and detailing its partnership with fellow Montreal digital arts festival Elektra last month, MUTEK has just announced the second wave of artists slated to performer at the Candian festival's 15th anniversary this spring.

Last summer, Jordan GCZ (a.k.a. Jordan Czamanski), better known as one half of Juju & Jordash, launched his own imprint, Off Minor Recordings, with a much-lauded solo effort called "Crybaby J." Since then, the young label has continued its hot start by issuing a collection of archival material from deep house specialist Move D and a new 12" from Magic Mountain High, which is of course a collaborative project between Juju & Jordash and Move D. Now, it appears that the Off Minor family is growing once again, as Maxmillion Dunbar (a.k.a. Andrew Field-Pickering), who also serves as one half of Beautiful Swimmers and helps run the excellent Future Times label, has been brought into the fray.

Hotly tipped Brooklyn-based producer Arca is still riding high off the release of his formidable &&&&& mixtape, a genre-smashing musical statement which he also dropped on limited-edition vinyl, as well as production credits with the likes of FKA Twigs and Kanye West. Late last year, he followed up that streak of quality work with an A/V exhibit at New York's MOMA PS1, featuring a collaborative film created with London artist Jesse Kanda. Called TRAUMA, the piece is said to present "a nonlinear narrative about the death of a salaryman and a drunk driving infant, and takes place within a subconscious world," with Arca providing the uncanny soundtrack. The film's two creators have announced that they'll be showing their work in galleries around the world throughout 2014, but have preempted those exhibits by sharing the first scene of TRAUMA online.

Today marks the arrival of the latest release from Body High co-owner Samo Sound Boy, the two-track Open/Divine EP, both sides of which we've already heard. (Incidentally, the record also happens to be Body High's first ever vinyl release.) To help celebrate the occasion, London-based DJ/producer Motions (pictured above)—half of the defunct Grown Folk duo, and an artist who we recently introduced to the XLR8R faithful with a free download of his gliding house tune "To the Sea"—has dropped a remix of the a-side cut from Samo Sound Boy's new 12".

There has plenty of talk about a grime "revival" during the past year or so, but London duo Elijah & Skilliam began breathing life back into the genre well before it became fashionable again. Between their Butterz label and much-loved show on Rinse FM, the pair built its name by championing a neon-streaked, raved-up variant of grime. Given that the two have now been enlisted to put together the next edition of the long-running Fabriclive mix series, it's fair to say that their efforts have taken root.

Last year, Bay Area producers and frequent collaborators Vin Sol and Matrixxman made a splash with a white-label 12" that, ironically enough, their names didn't even appear on. The record in question included house reworks of two tracks by iconic UK singer Sade ("Couldn't Love You More" and "Give It Up") and quickly garnered support from a wide variety of DJs. Having struck such a strong chord, it's not much of a surprise that Vin Sol and Matrixxman have put together a follow-up effort (artwork above), which is set to appear this week.

Only two months have passed since we profiled Lee Bannon as part of this year's Bubblin' Up Week. Normally, we'd allow a little more time to pass before tabbing a Bubblin' Up artist for the XLR8R podcast series—if nothing else, for the sake of continued artist development—but in Bannon's case, it quickly became clear that the Brooklyn producer wasn't going to be waiting for anything. His debut LP for Ninja Tune, Alternate/Endings, dropped in January, turning heads with its blown-out aesthetic and frequent nods to drum & bass, yet Bannon has announced that he's already working on a follow-up. Given his prodigious work rate, we figured that Bannon might also be willing to take on our podcast series, and he not only delivered an exclusive DJ mix, but one that's stuffed with several of his unreleased tracks.

Having worked with artists such as Amy Winehouse, Mark Ronson, Basement Jaxx, Kindness and Quincy Jones, vocalist Ade Omotayo is no newcomer to the music industry. His latest project is with Ruckspin collaborator James Low, and the two artists are preparing to drop their debut collaborative release as Equals. Called Single Soul, the duo's EP will feature remixes from the likes of xxxy and two-piece London outfit Screens, whose remix of lead single "Pyre" is featured here.
