Following injuries and arrests at this year's event, officials are working to deny the permits of one of the United State's biggest EDM festivals
Miami officials want the Ultra Music Festival out of their city. Plagued by injuries, arrests and safety concerns, one of the United States' biggest EDM festivals has been asked to find a new home.
Ultra 2014 was still raging with headliners like David Guetta, Steve Angello and Dizzee Rascal performing, when Miami mayor Tomas Regalado announced that he would be working to "deny the permits" for next year's festival. The authorities' principal complaint is related to an incident on Friday night, when a security guard was trampled by a mob of people who did not have tickets to the event. Erica Mack, 28, is in critical condition with a broken leg and severe brain haemorrhaging.
