It's the most wonderful time of the year: Bucky Awards season is here! For the uninitiated, the Buckys are Radio 3's way of recognizing the best in new and emerging Canadian music over the past year. The best part? You get to pick the winners.
Last year, you crowned Joel Plaskett, Said the Whale, Hannah Georgas, Grimes and more as your winners of Canada’s most coveted awards, and we’re bringing some of them back to help us recognize 2013’s best and brightest.
Here's how it works: over the next two weeks, we'll be highlighting each of this year's major award categories, day by day, with the help of former Buckys winners who will be sharing some of their picks for this year's awards. You can submit your own nominations for the eight major categories and three online categories (best video, best album art, must-follow artist) in our online form below — and you can send along as many nominations as you like, as often as you like! Nominations close on Friday, Nov. 15, at 11:59 p.m. ET.
Today, the award for best beat takes the spotlight: which tracks do you think were the grooviest of 2013? Click on the gallery above to see Hannah Georgas's top picks for this year's award, and be sure to submit your own favourite tracks in the form below.
