Zed Bias has been releasing music music for well over a decade and featured in the remix of one of Brownswood Recordings earliest releases, ‘Soil And Pimp – Sahara‘. Zed has been a figure head in much of the music emerging in the british underground scene of recent times. Joining forces with Loefah and dropping his most recent release ‘Boss‘ on Loefah’s label Swamp 81. This bass heavy and funky example of Dave Jones’s music most definitely deserves a place in your music catalogue and any upcoming mixes that you may have planned.

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself please. Who are you, where are you from etc.?
I’m Jimi Tenor, from Helsinki, Finland. I’m a multi-instrumentalist, play sax, flute and keyboards.
How would you describe your music?
I think underground exotica could describe my style quite well. There are hints of contemporary classical music, but also rhythms from around the world. I tend to play a lot of solos when performing.
Whom do you count amongst your most significant influences when it comes to production?
Krautrock band CAN, Sun-Ra. Both Sun Ra and Can recorded their albums very simply, many times at rehearsal rooms. Also 50′s instrumental exotica recordings have influenced me.
If you could give a musical award of the year, what would it be and for whom?
Hard question. One year goes so quickly and I have hard time to follow when albums were released. Maybe some Spanish flamenco singer. Why not? Do you have a current DJ mix or any tracks that are available for free download right now that we could point folks to?
I would go to Spotify. My new album "Exocosmos" can be heard there.
