Sounding like early Tortured Soul featuring any of the singers from the Blue 6 camp, Geneva and Boddhi Satva’s Secret is a percussion heavy tale about cheating you can dance to. Grab the full length as well as the instrumental HERE

German producer FloFilz has some of the jazziest sample based beats I’ve heard in a long time. I visited his Soundcloud page to check out this J88 remix and left a fan of his body of work. Make sure you support this brother’s releases too!

If you haven’t peeped Lord Echo’s sophomore project, Curiosities yet, then let Rich Medina’s mix of “the best moments from the album” persuade you to pick it up HERE

14 piece spiritual jazz ensemble, Teotima’s debut album Counting The Ways is the brain child of Guitarist-composer Greg Sanders and Ben ‘Nostalgia 77′ Lamdin. There is a wealth of influence on the project, from West African to classic American soul, but the album is somehow categorized as “spiritual jazz”. Confining labels aside, the album is an enjoyable listening experience introduced by the fantastic, attention grabbing title track . Pre Order HERE

Celebratring the 40th anniversary of Herbie Hancock’s seminal Head Hunters record, two of my favorite musicians have connected to not only provide a free remake but also invite you to their show Dec 2 at ShapeShifter Lab in Brooklyn (RSVP). I was expecting more of Sly5thAve’s cubano application but this remake swings and makes me wish I was in NY
