You've probably already heard at least one of the first two singles from Trust's new album, Joyland, as it was one of our most highly anticipated releases of 2014 and we've been playing both "Rescue, Mister" and "Icabod" in high rotation for the past couple of months. Now, here's your chance to finally hear the album in its entirety.
This release sees Trust become the solo project of Robert Alfons, as partner Maya Postepski left the group shortly after the release of their 2012 debut album to focus on her other band, Austra.
Even though the sound of Joyland is lighter and more optimistic than its predecessor, there's still enough low-end synths and gothic aesthetic to get your dark synth-pop fix.
We'll have more with Alfons next week, as he will be joining us on Monday, March 17 for a CBC Radio 3 artist takeover, where he'll be answering questions from the audience. If you have any questions for him, leave them in the comments below. Until then, take a listen to Joyland above.
