Canadian electro-pop act Montag (Antoine Bédard) has created a unique, new composition to mark the 2014 Montreal F1 Grand Prix, which takes place this weekend.
Using samples of engine sounds and music from 1964–2014, Montag's mind-blowing composition puts the listener right in the middle of a nightclub and a speedway simultaneously. It seems an impossible task to challenge oneself with crafting a catchy dance track that interweaves the roar of various engines racing and revving from left to right, but Montag makes it work, creating a dynamic experience unlike any you've ever heard.
Even more remarkable is Montag's decision to pair decade-appropriate music samples with their corresponding engine sounds. From psychedelic rock to house, and disco to new wave, "Grand Prix" is a celebration of the roaring F1 engine sound throughout time.
