Afro Latin Vintage Orchestra new LP - Got To Get Down - featuring Emskee, Audessey, Oxygen

After two albums released on Ubiquity Records (Last Odyssey in 2012 and Pulsion in 2015), this new album has a very particular vintage hip hop taste as it accounts for the achievement of an old dream for the mad Masta Conga, write and produce an album made out of jazz and library colors on the instrumental side, and old school hip hop on the vocal and lyrical side.

To do so, he called in the cream of NYC’s MCs Emskee (THE GOOD PEOPLE), Oxygen and Audessey (both members of SOUNDSCI), who blasted their authentic and powerful flows on each of the seven tracks of the LP. Punctuated with well-dropped samples, this album is the hip hop extrapolation of the crazy and exquisitely vintage energy breathed by Masta Conga and his loyal team of musicians, each of whom already has very mixed influences and cultures!

The result is an album organic and powerful, jazz and furious, hip hop and subtle, modern and vintage, all in the same time, as only Masta Conga and his ALVO know to do, including by handling the production chain from A to Z or so, giving top priority to the warmness of the vinyl sound, and even affording the luxury of juiced-up mastering and cutting, by the British studio Optimum Mastering.

The atomic and sonic bomb for the after summer 2016 !
Detailed press communique attached. Looking forward to hearing from you and answering all details or additional info requests.

The latter-day Swans have become synonymous with a certain imposing sprawl, specializing in the sort of colossal, half-hour long pieces that require you to book off time in your iCal just to listen to them. By comparison, "Oxygen", the second teaser released from the upcoming To Be Kind, is practically a pop single, not just for its relavite brevity (only eight minutes!), but its structural simplicity and jugular-clenching force. Forsaking the band's usual ominous build-ups/breakdowns and carefully orchestrated chaos for sheer, unrelenting pig-fuckery, "Oxygen"—which shares a title, some lyrics, and absolutely nothing else with a 2010 solo-acoustic Michael Gira track—is the closest thing to a straight-ahead rocker the 21st-century Swans have produced. (And tellingly, it's the rare To Be Kind track previewed on last year's live set, Not Here/Not Now, that came out of the studio sounding just as filthy as it did in concert.)

It's a reminder that, even as the scope of their albums turns evermore epic, Swans still belong to a tradition of deranged, debased punk that the connects the bruising attack of the Jesus Lizard's "Wheelchair Epidemic," the woof-woof feralism of the Birthday Party's "Happy Birthday," and the sax 'n' violence of the Stooges' "Fun House." "Feed me now!" Gira screams at the song's precise half-way point, but "Oxygen" is a song about breathing that doesn't give you any chance to do so.
