GDD™ Guest Mix: Phazz

Property of Gotta Dance Dirty

Oh boy I am very excited about the guest mix this week. One of my latest and most exciting discoveries is young French beat boy Phazz, and in this fine week of July he’s handed over an absolutely wonderful exclusive guest mix to us. Chock full of exclusives, intelligent re-works, and various unique up-and-comers, the mix explores the beat-based jambalaya of everything from jazz, R&B, and club influences and beyond. I see huge amounts of potential in Phazz, his work with vocal-pitching on remixes of Ryan Leslie and Cassie is really astounding and the direction he’s been taking as of late has a huge appeal.

GDD™ Guest Mix: Epcot

Property of Gotta Dance Dirty

If you haven’t caught on by now that I hold LA-based label/collective Friends of Friends very near and dear to my heart, then you’re either slippin or just really don’t care. Well I’m just not OK with either of those. From their work with Boiler Room to cultivating the musical careers of left-field artists like LOL Boys, Groundislava, Shlohmo, Young Adults, and more, FoF have been making a well-deserved name for themselves since their beginning. The FoF-er that I bring to you today goes by the name of Epcot, who is not only part of the Friends of Friends team, but also runs Salva’s label Frite Nite. He came fresh with an exclusive guest mix for us chock full of artists who enjoy coloring outside the lines of house and techno; From Randomer to Sinden, acid to analog, Epcot keeps the vibe alive with an intelligent selection of provoking dance music.

GDD GUEST MIX: THEE COOL CATS

Property of Gotta Dance Dirty

This week amidst the big room festival noise everyone is gravitating towards, we present you with a crispy alternative to get your weekend started, whether traveling to Vegas or just holding it down on the home front. The Mexicali/Indio duo known as Thee Cool Cats take the reigns on the GDD guest mix, dropping us an hour of G house (which if you didn’t already known stands for gangster house – a funky deep house backbone with a thugging hip hop spirit.) These dudes are on the come up and have forthcoming releases on NYC’s Nurvous Records and Amine Edge‘s new label CUFF. I’ve been supporting them since day one in my sets, and these tracks go off huge for any crowd. Listen below and get ta’ groovin.
