Featured as part of their monthly Label Spotlight, Amazon UK are also giving away a free 16-track Sampler, featuring music from Buena Vista Social Club, Ry Cooder, Ali Farka Touré and more. “World Circuit Records began life in London in the mid-80s with a focus on Cuban and West African artist-led releases, amongst other world music styles, and by 1993 had already claimed its first Grammy Award-winning LP with Ali Farka Touré and Ry Cooder’s Talking Timbuktu. In 1997, the label released another Ry Cooder project, the phenomenal Buena Vista Social Club, to a global applause which saw the Cuban band sell millions of records. Believe New Release w/c 25/11/13 Posted: 22 Nov 2013 04:29 AM PST Artist: Charlotte OC Release: Colour My Heart Label: Stranger Records Genre: Pop 22 year old Charlotte OC, hailed as the British Lana Del Ray, arrives with her debut EP on Stranger Records (Lana Del Ray, Filthy Boy). The title track ‘Colour My Heart’ written by Charlotte, was produced and recorded by Tim Anderson (Solange, Sia) in LA. ‘Colour My Heart’ is an intoxicating mix of emotional lyrics and heady, thick vocals. The Blackburn born singer has spread her wings over to LA and recorded and produced a supernatural title track and video. There is a spooky and bewitching sound to the song that is powered along by underlying beats and earthy melodies pulsating throughout.
