Amidst all the year-end lists, it's nice to know about your favourite band's favourite records. Specifically when they're all about Canada.
Call it the maple syrup effect, if you will, but there is a substantial amount of talent tucked between B.C. and Newfoundland. For the third year in a row, we asked Canada's best bands and artists for their top five albums, and more than 60 delivered.
In the gallery above, you'll notice that certain names appear on nearly everybody's lists, like Bahamas, Alvvays, Zeus, Mac DeMarco and Hey Rosetta!, but there are some great underground picks and regional delights to keep you listening for days.
In fact, there were so many great submissions, we've broken the gallery into parts one and two, with part two to follow in the coming days. Click on the playlist at the top of the post for a massive sampling of songs featuring artists on these top five lists to keep the music going while you find out about your favourite band's favourite records.
