Soulplusmind just dropped his latest single “Waiting” featuring vocalist Rachael Kanute. It’s a catchy electronic/pop song about heartbreak and waiting within relationships. The instrumentation really captures mood on this song. Love the percussion on here. You can hear the track up top. |

Tay Devenny follows up his collaboration effort, the EP arc featuring production from ฬเןl, and his Lux Natura-assisted single "Vancouver/Palme" with the proper full-length album release shrine. Tay dives deeper into a darker subject matter, possibly even further than he has ever went in any of his previous projects. He brought along other fellow fresh faces that make appearances throughout the project such as Houston’s Danny Watts. You can check out shrine and download it for free right below. Little Dragon just dropped the audio to their lead single “Klapp Klapp” days ago, and now they are already ready to follow up with the accompanying visuals. While we have only heard one song from their upcoming Nabuma Rubberband thus far, this project is already feeling much more well-designed than previous works. That goes for everything from the stunning artwork to the promotional videos leading up to the release. Including this inspiring video for “Klapp Klapp”. Here are some words from director Taylor Cohen: “There's something primal and eerie about the song… the drums feel ceremonial, you know? The original treatment I wrote was set in Mexico, in the kind of cemetery where Michael Douglas wakes up in The Game. But then we incorporated the voodoo element, and the Dominican Republic came up. It was Ivan Herrera, a great local producer we had with a great crew, that suggested the remote church location. Almost all of my writing has female leads; they're just more interesting to me. Although it was a tough shoot she was a total pro throughout. I can't recommend shooting in the Dominican enough – I’d go back in a second.”Watch the video for “Klapp Klapp” up top. |

Everyone interprets Valentine’s Day a bit differently. While certain artists relate to sadness on this special day, others take the time to pay tribute to their special someone. Like Fashawn, who pens a special ode to all the ladies out there in his new song that’s appropriately titled, “Ladies”. From the looks of it, this smooth cruiser won’t land on any forthcoming projects. Regardless, it’s a nice little one-off from Fash. Stream Fashawn’s “Ladies” up top. |

Does Valentine’s Day have you feeling blue? Lapalux feels your pain. Taking to an old Elvis record, the producer flipped the track into something even more twisted and creepy than we could have ever imagined. Oh, and it comes with equally as distant visuals, which you can watch below.

You’ve got to love Valentine’s Day, even if it’s only for the constant flow of romantic old-school R&B. Like Marsha Ambrosius’ latest single and video combination, “Stronger Than Pride”. Sampling Jeru the Damaja’s “Come Clean”, this fluttering piece of R&B is really hitting the spot on this sunny Friday afternoon. Marsha’s Friends & Lovers is coming soon. Watch the video for “Stronger Than Pride” below. |

Nothing affects and rules over our respective lives more than time. A second can mark the line between life and death; a week can hold hours upon hours of positive memories, or blend into a black hole of repeated regimens and schedules that make recall nearly impossible. Sometimes, each and every day is the same old thing.
“Living in a Dream”, ShaqIsDope‘s newest single, finds the Canadian emcee unloading line after line of explosive boasts and reflective advice in the face of time’s passing. His seamless and powerfully delivered flow rides atop an absolutely stunning beat from Boston’s production duo Muvafux, one with a similar flair to the sample-laden tracks of Jay Z’s Reasonable Doubt (yup). A flawless sampling of Lakeside’s “Visions of my Life” is interspersed at the forefront of the record’s landscape, adding a tender soulfulness to what is undoubtedly Shaq’s best track thus far. I’m growing more and more excited for what he has in the stash for the coming months. Stream “Living in a Dream” below, and look out for ShaqIsDope’s upcoming EP, Early Beginnings: The Shaquille Baptiste Story. |

The set contains 500 soulful tracks from PBW’s personal collection titled “The ABC’s of Love.” For those of you with nothing to do today, consider your time filled. Stream the mix below: |

There are few R&B duos as romantic as Denitia and Sene. Their sound is minimalist, the perfect soundtrack for casual pillow talk. But their emotion is felt, especially on tracks like “Call U.”, which received visual treatment today from director aaronisnotcool. The video is only a minute, though, but it helps captivate everything these two musicians are all about. We also included a highly expansive remix by Andrew Thomas Reid called “Go Too Far”.
You will not be disappointed. |

The amount of free music you are going to hear today is pretty absurd. I mean, artists love holidays. And they love their fans more. So why not take this opportunity to drop some free material on the world. For Willie Evans Jr., today was the perfect opportunity to drop a quick freebie called The Love Circle. The cool part about this project is that it actually has a back story. Read it here: In the midst of a nasty break up I was forced to hide in my studio from a love crazed woman wielding a machete. During those 24 hours, I pondered the cyclical nature of relationships and their tendency to slowly form the building blocks that inevitably construct our future selves. As I am not good with descriptions, I decided to express this thought in the form of a short instrumental piece. Upon my escape from the Machete Mistress (as she would later be known), I managed to save the instrumental to a hard drive. What you're about to hear is the result of that harrowing experience and, although none of what you just read is true, the musings in this story were certainly the inspiration for the joint.Stream and download the EP up top. |
