Label: TPS-Records/Junonsaisai Records Released: December 2013
Three Primary Colors are a band that fit into the scene of hip Japanese instrumental bands with a jazzy twist such as bohemianvoodoo and Toconoma. Jazz, funk and urban cool influences are all evident on this debut release from the trio featuring guitar, piano/bass keys, and drums. The album starts strongly with The Rumio, which has a killer melody. The mellower Just Call My Name and the funky Groove On are also worth a mention, but other tunes are somewhat less memorable. All very stylish, they could do with some stronger tunes. A reasonable debut, but they show potential.
