When we first heard from London newcomer IYDES earlier this year, it was in anticipation of his PHASE EP, which was then slated to see a release in February. After a bit of a delay, the UK artist's debut effort will now see its release later this month in digital and vinyl form, which is preceded by another EP cut, "Aldkrome II." Built on the back of robust, ever-morphing drum constructions, the production is both dark and spacey, intricate but unapologetically strong-armed. The tune will join four other similarly hybridized pieces of electronic music on March 31, when IYDES drops PHASE; before its fast-approaching release, however, the record can be streamed in full after the jump.

The latest Mako track ‘Beam‘ is a massive hit, receiving an extraordinary remix from one of the dance scene’s biggest rising stars Dannic. The Dannic treatment of ‘Beam‘ exudes confident and excitement with its melodic big room progressions and exuberant energy. Now, the official video has been released for the Dannic mix. The video is compromised of footage that fans sent in after Mako requested that they do it via social media. Directed by Clarence Fuller, ‘Beam‘ also features footage that Clarence shot, with Mako making some surprise visits in. With the lyrics flying across the screen, the video shoes fans dancing, playing, clubbing and having a good time to Dannic’s mix of ‘Beam‘. Check out the video today.

          Robert Hood

Robert Hood is a man of many aliases — over the years, there have been Dr. Kevorkian, Monobox, Floorplan, Inner Sanctum, the Vision and the Mathematic Assassins, along with his work in the Underground Resistance collective and in the groups X-101, X-102 and X-103 (with Jeff Mills and UR’s Mike Banks). But one constant runs through all of Hood’s music: the desire to strip things back to their essence. Hood helped invented minimal techno with his 1994 EP, Minimal Nation, and all of his releases since then have fused futuristic machine funk with a deeply intuitive sensibility that feels almost primal.
