We've been told he was initially seen as a sort of peer of Clams Casino although his sound is less comatose and "cloudy" than Clams', more ebullient and busy, positing him as a US Rustie or Hudson Mohawke, although there are tracks that manage to be both cut-up and frenzied as well as ambient and laidback: not so much chopped and screwed as chopped and chilled.
