Listen to Azealia Banks’ new single, ‘Heavy Metal and Reflective’ Posted: 27 Jul 2014 09:48 AM PDT Finally free of a label, Banks previews Broke With Expensive Taste. Earlier this month, Azealia Banks announced that she had parted ways with Interscope, a move which would supposedly clear the way for her long-delayed debut album Broke With Expensive Taste. New single ‘Heavy Metal and Reflective’ finds Banks as combative as ever over a synth-heavy beat produced by frequent collaborator Lil Internet. Stream it below; it’s due out on July 29 but is out now in New Zealand.

Eyedress – Smoke Me Out Posted: 02 Jul 2013 06:29 AM PDT Staying generous, Eyedress has given out another track. We ain’t complaining, and Smoke Me Out is especially devilish, with a Friday sample at the start and a general tone of maniacal head rush. What Mario hears when he falls off a platform:

Kiwi – Llama – Exclusive Posted: 02 Jul 2013 02:46 AM PDT Jack Savidge of Friendly Fires and Ed Congreave of Foals’ label Deep Shit produce an intense, disco-tinged belter, courtesy of Kiwi. Llama, part of an EP out this month (15 July), builds steadily, like a new skyscraper, until its percussion-heavy, laser-light-show unveiling at the end (I’m using the Shard as the analogy here, except the laser show works and is #notshit):

Eyedress – Ying Yang Gang Posted: 24 Jun 2013 08:12 AM PDT Another free download from Filipino firecracker Eyedress, this time in the shape of Ying Yang Gang. Atmospheric vocals and effects coincide with shuddering synths, doom-bass and final-boss-style bleeps and bits. Beguiling banger:
