Like a bat out of hell, Soulwax has slapped their name of some of hottest tunes in recent memory. Plowing through Jungle and Tame Impala like nothing, they’ve now put their spin on Hot Chip. “Huarache Lights” was one of the monster tracks from “Why Make Sense?,” and these guys just took it up a notch. They turn the tough melody from the original tune into a crunchy 120ish masterpiece. Those characteristic chimes throughout the tune remind you that you’re not the water that’s apparently flowing on Mars.

Crooked Colours are a live electronic trio, creating music that has one foot in the indie genre and one foot in a darker electronic realm. Comprising of Phil Slabber, Leon Debaughn and Liam Merret-Park, their sound has often been compared to a combination of English indie-rock foursome Alt-J and US electronic duo Crystal Castles. Today, we have the awesome opportunity to premiere their latest tune, “Steps.” Dark vox couple with a haunting soundscape to create a really epic neo-techno creation. Enjoy!

Chicago’s prolific house music producer, Roy Davis Jr., is still on point, even after decades of strong influence in the scene. His newest release comes as a remix of Kim Anh’s “Shadows,” and he easily does justice to the original, while giving it his own flair. On his remix, Roy Davis Jr. keeps the soulful, psychedelic vibes strong with a smooth four-on-the-floor rhythm that’s accented by strings, phaser-ed guitar work, and chopped n’ screwed vocals. Enjoy below and buy it on iTunes.

2015 for Justin Jay has been one for the ages, and he’s rolling on into the last quarter of the year with the wind at his back. Just last Friday, the LA-based producer/DJ took over the BBC Radio 1 airwaves with an after hours mix feature on Pete Tong’s show, which followed the slot helmed by VIVa Music’s Steve Lawler. Throughout the year, Justin has been teasing his new project, Justin Jay & Friends, so not surprisingly, he decided to include a few new unreleased tracks, amongst an array of groovy jams from the likes of Catz ‘N Dogz, Adriatique, Dimitri From Paris, Aroop Roy, and more. Definitely let this mix carry you into the weekend, and if you haven’t been able to catch Justin on his Mom, I Graduated! World Tour, see when he’s coming to a city near you here.
