Ahead of the ninth instalment in the annual Worldwide Awards at Koko, we will be shedding light on the artists performing through a series of questions. Here we have for you, Valerie June. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself please. Who are you, where are you from etc.? I was born Valerie June Hockett in Madison County, Jackson, Tennessee. One of the best small towns ever! I love reading short stories and children’s fables. I love drinking hot tea and sitting in saunas. I don’t listen to music often, but when I do stop to listen, I am very specific about what I want to hear. I love to read liner notes about musician’s lives. |
