Mancunian purveyors of far off sounds, Banana Hill, look to Kenya for their next release from Jinku; a deeply personal EP that works together discordant layers and polyrhythms.
Vagabond exhibits a sound that is distinctive of a new wave of producers coming out of East Africa, but also weaves in UK electronica influences throughout. In addition to the original tracks, Banana Hill have enlisted the help of El Búho and Berlin-based producer Sooma to work their magic on the remix. The latter’s reimagination is our pick, a hypnotic workout that flips the A1 into a polyrhythmic workout underpinned by a deep distant tribal call.
