A project initiated by producer Gigi Campi, the Kenny Clarke Francy Boland Big Band is a project unrivalled in jazz history, bringing together some of the best jazz musicians from both the States and Europe for a series of albums recorded between 1961 and 1972. Swing Im Bahnhof is a live sextet recording from a 1965 fund-raising gig that has been remastered and reissued by the Italian Schema/Rearward label. The mood here is very much bossa nova jazz as would have been the vogue at the time. Sahib Shihab plays some superb flute over the swinging backing. A great reissue.
